Ascendum and Nors have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of the Volvo Trucks dealership operation in the central region of Portugal to Nors, the official importer of Volvo Trucks in Portugal.
This operation follows a redefinition of Volvo Trucks’ distribution model for markets such as Portugal, which now favors distribution structures operated by a single entity.
In this context, Ascendum and Nors have agreed on a solution that ensures the continuity and stability of the operation, safeguarding the interests of all stakeholders — customers, employees and partners.
The agreement guarantees full continuity of the business. Customer service, teams and operational locations will remain unchanged, and employees will continue to perform their roles within the same operational structures.
The trucks business was at the origin of the former Auto-Sueco Coimbra and therefore represents an important chapter in Ascendum’s history.
Over the past decades, Ascendum has evolved into an international platform specialized in the distribution and service of machinery and industrial equipment for the construction, forestry, agriculture and industrial sectors, now operating across 14 geographies.
Ascendum remains deeply connected to the Volvo brand and is currently a Volvo Construction Equipment distributor in all 14 countries where the Group operates, while also representing several other leading international brands.
This direct distribution model has also been progressively implemented by VCE within the machinery sector, where Ascendum has been strengthening its direct distribution positions, namely in Spain and Turkey, where some sub dealers still remain. This trend is expected to continue in the coming years.
In Portugal, Ascendum will continue to focus on the growth of its machinery and equipment operations for construction, industry, forestry and agriculture, reinforcing its investment in innovation, digitalization, customer proximity and portfolio expansion.
